Volunteer Opportunities

Animal Care

At PWR there are various opportunities for learning and assisting with wildlife that comes in our care. As an animal care volunteer, your tasks can include feeding animals, assisting with animal in-take, and cleaning and maintaining cages and habitats.

We do not require previous animal experience to work with the animals. However, we do require that you are 18 years of age OR have a parent or guardian present if you are a minor. We also require that you sign a liability form prior to volunteering.

Maintenance and Carpentry

As a maintenance and/or carpentry volunteer, you can help us by building and repairing cages, maintaining animal habitats, and doing yard work.

Rescue/Transport

Drivers are needed to pick up wildlife to bring to PWR. Wildlife will be picked up from local veterinarian offices or from individual homes or businesses who have found wildlife that needs our care.

Fundraising

Grant writers are extremely important for any non-profit organization. Grant writers are needed to research available grants and apply for them.

We are also looking for special events volunteers to assist in coordinating, publicizing, and attending our fundraising events. Other duties may include creating displays and setting up materials at events.

Go to Fundraising Programs for more information on our events and on-going fundraisers.

Education/Outreach

PWR often gives programs for schools, churches, and civic organizations. This is a great way to educate others about our native wildlife. We need volunteers to help plan for and attend these programs.

Clerical

We often need volunteers to help us keep up with wildlife calls, computer data entry, and mailings.

Please Contact Us if you're interested in volunteering.
